Jiffy 7 – 38mm Peat Plug - 60 per tray

Jiffy 7 Preloaded Trays are made from durable plastic, ensuring you won’t need a replacement tray for many seasons. Refill these trays with plugs once you have used the pellets by simply removing the plugs from each cell, and putting new pellets in each cell. These trays are suitable fit for our Large Value Propagators and the large MPL Propagator.

Tray Dimension: 31.5cm x 52.5cm
Plug Dimension: 38mm dry, 41mm expanded.

Bear in mind that all of our trays have the same dimensions, however each tray has a differing number of slots depending on the plugs they were designed to hold. This is due to the nature of the plugs expanding when they are soaked.

Jiffy-7 plugs have proven themselves to be an effective propagation substrate, suitable for use with a wide variety of crops and plants. Lauded by growers worldwide for their ease of use and fast sprouting of plants. Allowing both professional and amateur growers to excel in their craft.

Jiffy-7 Plugs are less bulky than traditional potting medium due to the use of a fine netted mesh, which ensures optimal water and airflow to the seedling or cutting grown using it.

All sizes of the Jiffy-7 plugs feature a pre-formed soft centre which contains a specially formulated fertiliser to provide the best start for your young plants. Short term crops will need no further feeding before potting on.

Due to the increased air porosity of the Jiffy-7 plugs, plants grown in this medium will root faster, and produce stronger roots.

Jiffy-7 plugs are manufactured from sphagnum peat moss, harvested from carefully selected bogs which are subject to stringent regulation to ensure minimal environmental impact. Peat is only taken from sources where the regeneration rate is greater than the harvest rate.

HOW TO USE JIFFY-7 PLUGS:

  1. Put the plugs in a planting tray, pot or seed tray of appropriate size.
  2. Soak the plugs with lukewarm water and pour off any excess water.
  3. Sow seeds or plant cuttings, and position the trays in a bright place.
  4. Take care to avoid frost, and gradually expose the sprouts to the sun.
  5. Never over-water them, or let them dry out.
  6. When watering them, make sure to water thoroughly.
  7. To protect the sensitive roots make sure to completely cover the Jiffy-7 plug in the flower bed, or pot that you are using when planting them.

Jiffy plugs are extensively tested both internally and externally, in laboratories and research stations around the world. Ensuring that they are the best fit for most types of small plant.

Jiffy 7C - 30mm Coco Coir Plug

How do Jiffy Coco Coir Plugs work?

Soak pellets in tap water, as soon as they have expanded, remove from water. Squeeze to introduce air and prevent waterlogging. Create a small hole and insert the seed or cutting. Place pellet in a propagator under 18/24 hours of light a day. Just remove your propagator lid once a day to clean lid and gently mist and watch the seedling/cutting establish itself.
